Programme Details:
SAVI is a DFID-funded programme providing support to help Nigeria use its resources more efficiently/ effectively with focus on Governance and Service Provision.The objective of the programme is to increase the ability of citizens to claim rights and hold governments accountable. The programme is functional in Abuja (head office), Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Zamfara, Yobe and Katsina.

Services are provided to select CSOs, think tanks, media outlets and SHoA in building up their capacity in representing citizens’ demands and holding government to account.

Through funding of activities, mentoring and helping with access to government SAVI aims to help these organizations develop their own ability to engage in issue based advocacy and monitoring of government processes.

State Programme Assistant – SPA at SAVI


State Programme Assistant – SPA                                          Kaduna State

Line Manager: STL
Responsibilities:

·         Support Technical Delivery of Programme Implementation

·         Assist STL & SPOs to engage local implementing partners in CS, Media, SHoA, MDAs for specific sub-outputs/areas of activity where the SPA has a pre-defined supporting responsibility agreed within the team, approved by the STL.

·         Assist STL & SPOs to monitor the political environment of SAVI’s work in the state (through the media and other outlets) and to diagnose partners’ capacity building needs (primarily through use of PCA/OCA with partners) and identify support required to meet needs (in line with SAVI’s broad approach and core values) in areas of pre-defined responsibility.

·         Develop workplans for programme activities.

·         Assist implementation of programme activities.

·         Assist with M&E, reflection and reporting of programme activities and communication of lessons learnt.

·         Support Management of Funds for Programme Implementation

·         Assist SPO & SFO with preparing the budget for programme activities.

·         Prepare and sign off financial reports of activities to the SFO.

·         Support Arrangement of Logistics for Programme Implementation

·         Leadership of Specific Sub-Outputs/Areas of Activity

·         Teamwork & Mentoring



Minimum Job requirements:

·         Minimum 3 years experience in Programme Development and Delivery

·         Degree in Social Development, Community mobilization, Political Science or similar discipline

·         Experience working with an International Donor Organisation or Int. NGO

·         Worked with CSOs (Civil Society Organisations), the Media and State Legislature

·         Proven experience of relationship management with key partners

·         Worked in Kaduna, Jigawa and Yobe (or surrounding states) and has commitment to the State’s development
